River Valley Church SOAP - Part 9Sample

The author continues to build the case for trusting in Jesus by illustrating the Church’s relationship with Jesus as a new covenant. This is a great example of what it’s like to read a New Testament letter. We know that this author is writing to Jewish Christians, and we know that for some reason they need to be reminded of this, but we don’t know the whole story. What we do know is that they needed to be reminded that Jesus’s new covenant was a replacement of the old one, and that the old one needed to be replaced to establish the Kingdom of God on earth.
