River Valley Church SOAP - Part 9Sample

Here the author makes a central point to this letter: that Jesus’s sacrifice has defeated death and taken away sin once and for all, meaning that no more sacrifices are needed. Because of the sacrifice that Jesus made, we can persevere through any challenge. The author uses characters from the story of the Hebrew Bible to make the point that God’s plan has been carried out through the faith and trust of His people, and that the story has been designed to culminate into something better. He describes their faith as a race that will require endurance, and lets them know that God will discipline them, but that this is good for them and will help them to live a holy life. They are warned to pay close attention to what God is doing.
