River Valley Church SOAP - Part 9Sample

Paul pens this letter to Timothy in 64 A.D. after his fourth missionary journey and finds himself imprisoned under Emperor Nero. Recognizing that his life is soon coming to an end, Paul emphasizes multiple times in these chapters to steward the prophetic—the truths he has received as a good soldier. Paul then sums up his final instruction to Timothy to continue in what he has been taught since he was a young boy—that he should continue to proclaim the word of God, and even be willing to suffer for it because times are coming when people will turn aside from the word of God and Christian teaching because they want to hear only instructions that benefit their own selfish desires.
