River Valley Church SOAP - Part 9Sample

Paul outlines to Timothy how to handle situations where people may fall from faith and provides specific examples of how to treat older people, mature people, and social order. He highlights the importance of honoring the elderly, masters, and employees. Timothy was encouraged to be willing to meet their needs and provide for them if they are unable to do so themselves. Lastly, Paul explains that godliness must be the pursuit of all, whether someone has financial resources or not. They are also to pursue righteousness, faith, and love—all in the sight of God. When writers used the phrase “in the sight of God,” it was often seen as an oath or binding expression that one person would make to a deity or magistrate.
