Heart And Hustle

DAY 13 OF 30

Enemies of the Hustle

Priorities

Charles R. Swindoll said “You can’t slavishly serve things or people and also be a faithful servant of God.”

Ouch! But yet this type of life seems to find it’s its way into our spiritual pursuit of Christ. If we are to seek first in our lives God's kingdom and God's righteousness, then whatever else we do ought to relate to that goal. Our attitude, our time, our friends.

Every decision you make ought to be filtered through the Matthew 6:33 filter: where you put your money, where and how you spend your time, what you buy, what type of friends you have, what you give away. Living out the kingdom life means that everything must remain before the throne and under the authority of the ruler (God). EVERYTHING must be held loosely.

Goal:

Ask yourself this question: “What is my reason for living?" In other words, "What priority takes first place in my life?"

Life places before us hundreds of possibilities. Some are bad. Many are good. A few are the best. But each of us must decide. What tangibles are you holding onto? What are you gripping tightly? Some name you're trying to live up to? Some possession? Some person? If you can’t let it go, it's a priority to you. It’s impossible to be a slave to things or people and at the same time be a faithful servant of God. What priorities do you need to adjust today?
