Heart And Hustle

DAY 18 OF 30

Enemies of the Hustle

Corruption

Paul doesn’t pull any of his punches when addressing the Church of Corinth. This church in particular had fallen into several sin traps, with many members reverting to the lifestyle they once lived before their encounter with Christ. Corinth was known for its openness to all things sexually perverted and counter to character of Christ’s teachings. Paul exhorted these believers to not conform to their corrupt nature and ruin the Christ-like character they were to demonstrate.

Martin Luther King Jr. famously said “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character”. Now while Dr. King was addressing race in particular, this statement holds true for you, the Christian. In a moment of self-reflection, does your character line up with Christ’s teachings? Are you associating with the people who will elevate your walk, or with the people that will corrupt your life?

Goal:

Identify the areas in your life that do not conform to the standard that God has called you to in His word. Choose to walk in the character of Christ today!
