Enemies of the Heart
Guilt
I remember getting caught for stealing a piece of candy at a store when I was 5, and I was told “shame on you”. Those words stung and I’ll never forget them. I felt so bad even after I said I was sorry. I felt guilty.
Guilt says, “I owe you”. The enemy wants you to keep sin a secret. Guilty people live in suspicion. The solution to guilt is confession. Guilt makes you ask, “what will people think?” Finding someone to confide in will keep you accountable for your actions and is vital in the life of a Christian. There are no lone rangers in the kingdom of God. We all need each other! The reality is you can tell them now, or they will find out later. Jesus paid the price for you to not live in guilt and condemnation but to live in freedom and truth!
Goal:
What guilt are you living with? When you live in Christ, there is there is no more shame! Your past may say “shame on you”, but in Jesus name you can declare “shame OFF me!”
