Arise and Shine 

In the London Cathedral, there was a 70-year-old man singing in the choir for many years. Once, the young people in that church criticized him saying, “Why is this old man still singing? His voice is so bad now.” So, the following week, the old man sat at the last pew with sorrow, and did not sing. That night, in his dream, an angel appeared and said, “I am coming from God’s throne room. God said that the beautiful voice that He usually hears from the choir is missing and has sent me to find out the reason.” The old man said that everyone teased him for his voice. The angel said, “You are not singing for men; you are singing for God. Jesus is waiting to hear your voice. Don’t break God’s heart. Go and sing.” Immediately, the old man continued singing to glorify God. 

Discouragement is a weapon of the devil to stop you moving towards your goal destined by God. Shake it off. Arise and shine, for it is God who called you and gave you the talents. Let His divine purposes be fulfilled in your life. Man looks at the face, but God sees the heart. When you desire to do something for God, do it with all your strength, for the glory of God. God loves your sacrifice of obedience. 

Prayer

“Loving heavenly Father, many people have discouraged me in many ways. Today, I look up to You and shake off this dust of discouragement. Lord, help me to arise and shine for Your glory. Remove all of my weakness in spirit, soul and body. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
