The Shield 

Orphans are not only those who do not have parents, but also those who are left helpless to survive the waves of life. These fierce waves can be from family or job or even ministry. 

Many years ago, when Russia was at the grip of communism, Tommy Hicks went there to conduct a gospel meeting. The government arranged the meeting. But, they said they will give their official translator for translation. Tommy knew only English. So, he preached in English and said, “The blood of Jesus purifies us from all sins.” The translator turned around in anger and said, “You want me to believe this. This is a lie.” Saying so, the translator spit on Tommy’s face and left in anger. Tommy didn’t know how to continue his preaching without a translator. Suddenly, the Holy Spirit came upon him. He started to speak in the Russian language. Many people gave their life to God. After he finished preaching and praying, he forgot the Russian language. 

What an amazing thing! God is a miracle worker. No one was able to thwart the plan of God’s salvation on that day. Dearly beloved, the same God will do miracles for you too. Are you locked up in a place not knowing which way to go? The Lord will surely send you His help. He will not leave you helpless. You are not an orphan, when you have this great Father with you always. 

Prayer

“Loving heavenly Father, I praise You for You will never leave me nor forsake me. Lord, I bring my helpless situation before you. Help me! Every place of aid is closed. I look up to you. Please help me. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
