God’s Temple
When Samson grew up, God’s Spirit came upon him. One day, he encountered a ferocious lion, though he was unarmed, he caught hold of it’s mouth and tore it as he would have torn a goat. Once, the Philistines rose against him, captured him with fresh thongs and took him away. But God’s Spirit descended upon him strongly and the thongs with which his arms were tied, broke loose like a thread caught in fire. God continued to strengthen his hands against his enemies. But Samson drifted away from the path of the Lord as he slowly developed a close and unholy relationship with a woman. When the Philistines, his enemies, came to know about this, they approached the woman and tried to find out the secret behind his extraordinary strength, through her. And Samson, through his foolish act, disregarded God’s strength gifted to him. When God’s Spirit was taken away from him, he was stripped of God’s precious anointing.
My friend, if we destroy our body by submitting it to sinful lusts, then we will become like Samson who through his foolishness disregarded God’s Spirit. If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is sacred, and you are that temple. If God has given us the privilege to be His temple where He dwells, then it is our duty to keep it holy and safeguard it.
Prayer
“Loving Father, unlike Samson let me not defile myself, but rather keep my body holy. Let not my foolish act with my friends destroy Your temple. Cleanse me and make me a new creation. Let me be pleasing to Your sight. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Every day we must know the plans that the Lord has kept in store for our lives. The Lord has given us His word to reveal His plans to us. He reveals His plans through the word of God as we read it with reverence and prayer. When we hear His voice through our meditation of His word our hearts will burn like fire filled with joy (Psalm 39:3). Then as we follow it with proclamation of those words through the power of the Holy Spirit through our prayer, the blessings of that day will come upon us. Not only the blessings, but the grace of God shall come upon us to carry out that day’s work. We have compiled the Bible passage for you to read as well as the Lord’s revelation for each day. We pray that through this the Lord may give you the grace to be connected to Him throughout this year.
