Secret of Blessing

An illiterate drunkard was working in a mine. He would be in an inebriated state all the time and knew nothing about Jesus. But, one day Jesus Christ met him and transformed him completely. Thereafter, he became a follower of Christ. He would often utter, “Praise the Lord, Halleluiah!” So, his co-workers often made fun of him. He had to face much suffering, one after the another. He had no food or regular income. One morning the devil decided to test him and said, “It’s true you have given your heart to Jesus, because of your close fellowship with Christ, you are facing all these troubles. From now on you will get only roots for your meal.” He immediately said, “O you wicked devil, go away! Before I came to Jesus, I was serving you; you did not provide me with even this root. Look, Jesus has given me these roots for my meal. Glory be to God! Hallelujah!” He shouted and praised the Lord. The devil left him and fled.

My friend, his life was blessed because he was content and happy with what God gave him. When God calls us, He transforms us into a new creation. He gives us humility, gentleness and the strength to bear all our sufferings. Like this man when you bear all your sufferings and are content with what you have, God will exalt you in due time. This is the difference between a person who has accepted Christ and the one who does not know Him.

Prayer

“Loving Lord, I thank You for speaking to me through this word of blessing today. Father, I give my life into Your hands; fill me with Your Spirit. Let me not mourn over what I don’t have, but help me to be content with what I do have. This I ask in Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Blessing For Today

Every day we must know the plans that the Lord has kept in store for our lives. The Lord has given us His word to reveal His plans to us. He reveals His plans through the word of God as we read it with reverence and prayer. When we hear His voice through our meditation of His word our hearts will burn like fire filled with joy (Psalm 39:3). Then as we follow it with proclamation of those words through the power of the Holy Spirit through our prayer, the blessings of that day will come upon us. Not only the blessings, but the grace of God shall come upon us to carry out that day’s work.  We have compiled the Bible passage for you to read as well as the Lord’s revelation for each day. We pray that through this the Lord may give you the grace to be connected to Him throughout this year.
