Joy in Giving 

A poor Pastor got a small land and was building a church. He would bought bricks to build the walls upto a certain level. But the next morning, he saw that the wall’s height had come down to the same position as it was the previous morning. All the bricks were missing too. Only then did he notice that the next house; neighbour had taken all the bricks and built his first floor. So, the Pastor went to neighbour and said, “Sir, this is God’s money, I am struggling hard to build the church, please don’t steal the bricks”; but he replied saying, “I am building it with my money, it’s not your bricks.” He continued doing it; no other neighbour or higher authority helped him. The Pastor’s heart was broken, he cried out to God. Few days later, one afternoon, suddenly there was a lightning. The lightning struck the neighbour’s house and destroyed it completely. 

My friend, God is a merciful God but He is also a righteous judge who renders to everyone according to his doing. Today is the day to analyze your life. Being a child of God, are you giving your tithe faithfully to God. Are you giving to God what belongs to Him or spending that money for your needs. My beloved, when you give, you will receive. Make this as your motto in life and you will see blessings being showered upon your life. 

Prayer

“Loving Master, today’s word of blessing has struck me as two-edged sword. Father, I commit myself to give to You what belongs to You. Let not my flesh be a hindrance in giving to others. Help me; and strengthen me with Your Holy Spirit. This I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.”
