Add Pride

Joseph lost his mother at a very young age. Because he was born to his father Jacob in his old age, Jacob held him dearer than his elder brothers. In the same way, Joseph too, had immense affection for his father. He brought reports of the godless activities of his brothers to his father. Though he was aware that his brothers would hate him and attempt to kill him, he was neither worried nor afraid. He only wanted to please the Lord, to be faithful in his duty and to be unwavering in his love for his father. That is why in all trials, temptations and tribulations, the Lord never forsook him but added dignity to him.

My dear friend, are you giving more importance to your friends, than to your own parents? Do you hold the opinion that your friends are superior to your parents? Do you behave as though new found associations with strangers are more valid than your relationship with your parents? All your relationships with new-found friends and others in this world are temporal and fleeting; but the close relationship with your parents is a spiritual and a lasting one. Your parents will always stand by your side and support you even through all your tough situations and participate in all your joys and woes. Don’t lose them by your loveless deeds thus shattering their hearts. By deserting them, you are deserting yourself in the end!

Prayer

“Lord, I understand that my parents are the most precious gift You have given me. They are unique and I am grateful for the support they have given me all my life. Give me the grace to honor them more and more. This I ask in Jesus’ name, Amen.”

‘Parents are the most precious gifts on earth’

Blessing For Today

Every day we must know the plans that the Lord has kept in store for our lives. The Lord has given us His word to reveal His plans to us. He reveals His plans through the word of God as we read it with reverence and prayer. When we hear His voice through our meditation of His word our hearts will burn like fire filled with joy (Psalm 39:3). Then as we follow it with proclamation of those words through the power of the Holy Spirit through our prayer, the blessings of that day will come upon us. Not only the blessings, but the grace of God shall come upon us to carry out that day’s work.  We have compiled the Bible passage for you to read as well as the Lord’s revelation for each day. We pray that through this the Lord may give you the grace to be connected to Him throughout this year.
