Joyed Up Devotional

DAY 7 OF 21

SET GOALS AND ACHIEVE THEM

No matter how few your goals are, set them and achieve them. Best examples are the action tips we share in this devotional. Your goals won't just engage your mind; they bring a healthy sense of self-worth when you complete them. Succeeding in a set goal revitalises you and gives you the courage to face your fears and surmount them - especially those that depress you. People sometimes lose hope when they feel they no longer have what it takes to make things happen in their lives. So set a goal to do or not do something (it doesn't matter how small it is). For instance, to journal how you feel about some things that happen to you every day for the next five days, you must be deliberate about the task and succeed at it. If you can succeed in anything small, then you can succeed at anything great. You're not a loser, so prove that to yourself by setting very small goals like taking a walk every evening for a period of 3 days. It seems like nothing, but it will go a long way to keeping your mind healthy.

Action Tip:
Pick up your journal and write out a 5-year plan (where you want to be or what you want to be doing in 5 years) - list out the top 3. For each, list out 5 top things you must do/attain each year that will bring you closer to this 5-year plan. Set monthly goals that will bring you closer to the yearly attainment. Set a daily To-Do list that will drive you towards attaining your monthly goals. You will find that these daily lists are quite easy and achievable with the least stress. It could be picking up a book, changing your diet, or talking to someone in your field - it is usually very easy to attain. Don't lose sight of this page in your journal.

Affirmations:

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me; therefore, I boldly declare that I do the right things at the right time. I live my life deliberately. I do all that I have to do to enjoy all that God has purposed for me. Today, I declare that nothing is ever difficult or impossible for me to do. I believe this in Jesus Name.
