BREAK THE CHAINS OF ADDICTION: MASTURBATION & PORNOGRAPHY
Research shows that those who masturbate are more prone to depression than people who don't, and that suggests to me that addictions are a doorway to depression. The other way around, research also shows that people who are depressed are more prone to masturbation and pornography than those who are happy and joyful. You see, most depressed people are usually alone in their own space. They are also very wild with their thoughts and imaginations. These activities mimic the brain's natural reward system. Finding a replacement activity that is equally rewarding and exciting will not only bring positivity and productivity in their lives but also break the hold of addiction. They must learn to take charge of their minds and lives. We all should be in control of what happens in our space and let go of every negative force that will hold us in a place of struggles and limitations. Free yourself from the hold of addictions and live forever Joyed Up.
Action Tip:
Pick up your journal and write about any addictions you are struggling with, and write about how it makes you feel. Write what special thoughts you have for this addiction, and write out your plan to get over the addiction. Be as expressive as you can about your struggles.
Affirmations for those with such struggles:
I declare today that my body is GOD’s temple, HIS own dwelling place. GOD’s Spirit dwells in me, and HE influences all my thoughts and actions. GOD is at work in me, and HE is in control of my mind, to renew it day after day. I choose today to take charge of what I do, think and imagine. I do not let my mind wander to and fro. I do not let circumstances around me get a hold of me. I am in charge of my mental and physical environment and all that happens within and without. I break away from any and every addiction in my life, especially ___________________________(name specific addiction). I declare that I am free from masturbation and pornography. I understand that it might take a little while, but I will keep at it until I finally break away. I believe everything is possible. I am free. Halleluyah!
