Joyed Up Devotional

DAY 2 OF 21

DON’T BLAME YOURSELF

Allow the smear, just like an artist would. When an artist smears a painting, he converts the smear into something beautiful. This should be your approach to life: don't beat yourself up, blaming yourself for everything that goes wrong. Take responsibility for your actions, but move on from the negativity. Don't be held back by your mistakes; keep ticking as the clock does - continue living life. You have no clue why GOD allows some things to happen to you. HIS ways are far from yours, and His word will never go undone, so you can rest assured that the smear will eventually bring a smile when you move on and live (don’t just exist). Don't beat yourself up; don't blame yourself; allow the smear and lead a beautiful, joyful life.

Action Tip:
Think about the major mistakes you have made in life; what you'd consider a smear. Write these in a fresh leaf of your journal. Write out how bad these have made you feel and how much you have been held back by them. Let out all your feelings about these smears until there's nothing left to write. You may write a few pages, and that's okay. Now rip these pages off your journal. Don't rip it so neatly; rip it in such a way that there's evidence that it got ripped off. Then dispose of the ripped part. Now that you have let out the steam and emotions and have ripped off the negativities, it's time for a fresh start. Don't go back to that smear, it's ripped already. Let it go for life.

Affirmations:

Today, I declare that the past is gone and I live without hurts, pain and regrets. My past might have been bad and hurtful, but I choose to live in the present. I choose to forget about my past and hold on to my new life and my new experiences. From now on, I am more deliberate, and I take responsibility for my actions. I am not rigid, but I am flexible. Today, I break the walls that I have put between myself and my future as I allow GOD to dictate my future. I understand that mistakes are bound to happen. So when it does, I would not beat myself up, but I will allow the smear, pick my lessons and move on. I refuse to build my life around my past because I understand that it hinders my joy. I declare that I am free from my past as I become more deliberate in my living.
