Flip the Script

DAY 7 OF 8

When Your Story Seems Set

Some stories feel already written.

Labels get attached. Reputations get formed. Patterns get repeated. And after a while, it can feel like this is just who you are … and this is how your story will go. You start to live within the limits of what’s been said about you—or even what you’ve come to believe about yourself.

That was Saul.

He wasn’t just distant from God—he actively opposed Him. He persecuted the church, carried authority to arrest believers, and lived convinced he was right while being completely wrong. If anyone looked like they were locked into a certain future, it was him.

  • No one saw a preacher in Saul.
  • No one saw a leader.
  • No one saw a “chosen instrument.”

But God did.

And that’s the difference.

God sees beyond who you’ve been and into who He’s called you to be.

On the road to Damascus, everything changed. Not gradually. Not over time. In a moment that Saul didn’t plan and couldn’t control, Jesus revealed Himself—and everything shifted.

That’s what happens when God steps into a story.

God flips the script.

  • He’s not limited by your past.
  • He’s not discouraged by your patterns.
  • He’s not intimidated by how far off-course things may look.

So, if you’ve ever thought, “This is just who I am,” hear this truth:

That may be who you’ve been… but it’s no longer who you are.

Because one encounter with Jesus can break cycles, shatter labels, and open a future you never saw coming.

And that’s what he does with our life when we come into the family, our Father “Flips the Script.”

Prayer:

Father, thank you for making me a new creation in Christ. Open my eyes to see that the old me—my old way of thinking, my old patterns—are gone. I know that You are always with me and have given me a new mind, renewed by Your word. In Jesus’ name, amen.

About this Plan

Flip the Script

There are times when our lives feel like we're living the same old script. The same show, the same rerun. We know the plot, the twists and turns, and the ending. God is in the business of flipping the script and transforming our lives. What we thought was the end actually becomes a new beginning. He transforms our lives as we renew our minds with His word. This 8-day devotional will breathe new life into the script of your life and flip it.
