Flip the Script

DAY 2 OF 8

When the Ending Changes

At the end of Joseph’s journey, we see something remarkable.

Standing before the very brothers who betrayed him, Joseph makes this statement:

You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good.” — Genesis 50:20 (NLT)

That’s not denial—that’s revelation. Joseph wasn’t minimizing the pain; he was magnifying the miraculous might of God in the middle of it.

He understood something most people miss: what others meant for harm does not have the authority to define your outcome—Only God does.

This is what it means for God to flip the script…

  • The betrayal didn’t win.
  • The delay didn’t stop the promise.
  • The pain didn’t cancel his purpose.

In fact, God used every piece of Joseph’s past to position him in a place where he could bring life, provision, and hope to others. What once looked like loss became the very platform for provision and purpose.

And that same truth applies to you.

Whatever you’ve walked through—God sees it, and more importantly, God can use it. He is not intimidated by your past, and He is not limited by what’s been done to you. Even the things you wish never happened are not beyond His ability to redeem.

In His hands, nothing is wasted.

So today, instead of asking, “Why did this happen?” shift your perspective to, “God, how are You going to use this?”

And when He does, your story doesn’t end in what hurt you—it begins again in what He’s doing through you.

Because that’s what He does, God flips the script.

Prayer:

Father, You know my end from my beginning, and You ask that I not remember the former things in my life, but remember the great things You have done. I know you are doing something new, giving me a new beginning, and that Your plans include a future filled with promise and hope. I choose to learn through everything I am going through, and thank you for always being with me and leading me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
