Flip the Script

DAY 1 OF 8

When the Story Breaks

Life doesn’t always go the way we expected.

There are moments when the story takes a turn we didn’t see coming—betrayal, disappointment, setbacks that leave us wondering how we got here. What once felt full of promise can suddenly feel and look problematic. And if we’re honest, sometimes we quietly ask, “God, where are You in this?”

That’s where Joseph’s story begins.

Before the palace, there was a pit. Before influence, there was injustice. His own brothers betrayed him, stripped him of everything familiar, and threw him into a situation he never chose. And just like that, his story seemed to spiral in the wrong direction.

And yet—even there—God was not absent.

Family of God, this is where we begin to see a very powerful truth:

God doesn’t wait for your story to get better before He steps in. He steps in to make it better. That’s the Father’s grace!

Joseph couldn’t see it in the moment, but God was working in every chapter—from the pit, to Potiphar’s house, from the prison, through the process. Even in the silence, even in the delay, even when nothing made sense—God was aligning something greater than Joseph could imagine.

Here’s the principle we need to hold onto: “God flips the script.”

  • Not when everything is perfect.
  • Not when the pain disappears.
  • But right in the middle of the mangled, messed-up humanity.

So if your story feels off-course right now, don’t assume it’s over; it’s not.

God is still writing–He is still moving.

And what feels like an ending may actually be the beginning of something greater than you’ve ever seen.

The adage remains true: "What seems like an end to the road is really just a bend in the road.”

That's when you see that God had already "flipped the script.”

Prayer:

Father, continually remind me that Your plans and purposes will come to pass and Your will is done in me, no matter what. I choose to remember Who You are, and I know that You are always with me. Help me to see that what I think is the end is only the beginning of something even greater than I can imagine. In Jesus’ name, amen.

About this Plan

Flip the Script

There are times when our lives feel like we're living the same old script. The same show, the same rerun. We know the plot, the twists and turns, and the ending. God is in the business of flipping the script and transforming our lives. What we thought was the end actually becomes a new beginning. He transforms our lives as we renew our minds with His word. This 8-day devotional will breathe new life into the script of your life and flip it.
