This Is WhySample

Think about the way you get dressed in winter seasons and colder climates. It’s a process, isn’t it? Gone are the days when you can throw on a T-shirt and shorts, slip on your sandals, and run out the door. No, in those colder months, you have to be more careful and considerate of every item you put on to keep yourself warm. It’s layers—a coat, a scarf, a sweater, long pants, hats, gloves, and the like. Each item is selected for a specific purpose—not just to look good but to keep your body warm in the face of winter.
In the same way, here Paul instructs us, as believers, to carefully put on the fruit of our faith. To clothe ourselves in things like compassion, kindness, humility, and the like. To put on a demeanor and an attitude that reflects our faith to the world simply by the way we live. This is part of our witness; it’s a way to demonstrate our faith to the people we encounter, talk to, and interact with every day.
So ask yourself what you’re wearing spiritually this week. What can you put on to make sure your faith shines through in every interaction you have?

About this Plan

We’ve all had those experiences that are so real and impactful to us that we want other people to know about them, too. More than just telling the people in our lives about it, we want them to feel it, to get it, to care about it, and even experience it the way we do. And for followers of Jesus, our faith is a message of hope we simply can’t keep to ourselves. In this devotional, we’re going to look at what it means to share the gospel of Jesus with the world around us.
