The Year of the Courageous

DAY 9 OF 21

Courage to Speak Truth

Reflection:

Truth without love wounds, but love without truth weakens. The balance between the two requires courage.

It’s easier to stay silent than to speak up when something is wrong. It’s safer to tell people what they want to hear than to say what they need to hear. But silence can become complicity, and avoidance can turn into agreement.

Jesus modeled truth wrapped in grace. He corrected without condemning and loved without enabling. That same balance is what makes your witness effective and your relationships healthy.

Speaking truth also means being honest with yourself—about habits that are hindering you, pain you’ve avoided, or fears you’ve hidden. Growth can’t happen without truth, and truth always takes courage.

Prayer:

God, help me to speak truth with love and wisdom. Let my words bring healing, not harm. Give me the courage to be honest, even when it’s uncomfortable, and the grace to communicate in a way that honors You. Amen.
