The Year of the CourageousSample

Courage to Leave What’s Familiar
Reflection:
Familiar doesn’t always mean fruitful. Sometimes the greatest hindrance to your next season is your attachment to the last one.
Leaving what’s familiar takes courage because it challenges your identity and security. Paul had to let go of his reputation, his old way of life, and his comfort to pursue what God had for him. You can’t grasp what’s next if your hands are full of what was.
There’s a difference between loyalty and limitation. God isn’t asking you to dishonor your past, but He is inviting you to stop living in it. The future God has for you will always require some form of leaving—comfort zones, old circles, outdated perspectives.
Letting go isn’t losing; it’s making room for what’s greater.
Prayer:
Lord, give me courage to release what no longer serves my future. Help me to honor my past but not be bound by it. I choose to reach forward, trusting that Your plans are greater than what I’m leaving behind. Amen.
