The Year of the CourageousSample

Courage to Confront Fear
Reflection:
Fear is a liar, but it’s a convincing one. It tells you that the worst will happen, that you’re not enough, that God’s promises won’t hold. The truth is, courage isn’t the absence of fear; it’s the act of confronting it with faith.
David wrote these words while being hunted. He had every reason to panic, yet he made a decision: “When I am afraid, I will put my trust in You.” Fear didn’t disappear, but his focus shifted.
The more you stare at fear, the larger it becomes. The more you focus on God, the smaller fear seems. You can’t control when fear shows up, but you can control what you feed. Courage is feeding faith when fear demands attention.
Fear might whisper, “What if it doesn’t work?” but faith answers, “What if it does?” You serve a God who has never failed a promise. That’s reason enough to face fear head-on.
Prayer:
God, I admit that fear often tries to lead me. Help me to face it with faith. Teach me to trust Your word more than my worry. When fear rises, let courage rise higher, because I know You are greater. Amen.
