What the Bible Says About Advent - 29 Days of Advent Meditations

DAY 25 OF 29

Day 25: Love in Relationship

  • Verses:
    • John 15:9: "As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love."
    • 1 John 4:16: "And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love."
    • Romans 8:38–39: "Nothing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus."
    • Deuteronomy 7:9: "He is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations."
    • Zephaniah 3:17: "The Lord your God is with you... he will rejoice over you with singing."
  • Reflection:

God’s love invites us into an eternal relationship with Him. John 15:9 calls us to abide in Jesus’ love, while 1 John 4:16 declares God is love itself. Romans 8:38–39 assures us nothing can separate us from this love, and Deuteronomy 7:9 highlights its faithfulness across generations. Zephaniah 3:17 reveals God’s delight in us. Advent celebrates this relational love, urging us to remain in Christ and reflect His love to others, deepening our connection with Him and His people.

  • Application:
    • How does God’s love shape your relationship with Him?
    • Today, meditate on John 15:9, praying to abide in His love.
    • Journal about a time you felt God’s presence.
    • Strengthen your relationship with God by spending extra time in prayer or Scripture.
    • Share His love by encouraging someone with a kind word or act, reflecting Zephaniah 3:17.
    • Take one step, like joining a Bible study, to grow in community, showing God’s relational love to others.
  • Prayer:

Lord, help me abide in Your love and share it with those around me. In Jesus' name. Amen.

About this Plan

What the Bible Says About Advent - 29 Days of Advent Meditations

These 29 daily devotionals, created by Dr. Walt Larimore, are structured around the four traditional pre-Christmas Advent candles—Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love and one final devotion for the penultimate Christ candle. Each of the first four weeks focuses on one candle, with seven daily devotions exploring a specific aspect of that theme through Bible verses, a reflection, and a prayer prompt—then, of course, the final Christmas Eve or Christmas Day devotion. All Bible verses are quoted from the NIV, 2011.
