Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

DAY 92 OF 365

Let us cross over to the other side of the lake (Luke 8:22 NKJV).

Do you trust in all of Jesus’ promises?

Jesus’ words are true and deserving of honor. Our Lord sets out on a journey across the lake, knowing He has an appointment to liberate a captive. Luke recounts, “But as they sailed, He fell asleep. And a windstorm came down on the lake, and they were filling with water, and were in jeopardy” (Luke 8:23 NKJV). The disciples, in a panic, awaken their slumbering Lord. He calms the storm and questions them, “Where is your faith?” (Luke 8:25 NKJV). Indeed, He has a divine appointment to free a man tormented by demons (Luke 8:26–40).

Please remember this, my friend, even amid life’s storms, Jesus is with you, and beyond the storm lie exciting opportunities. Trust in His presence; He sails alongside you, faithful to His promises. Though the waters may be rough for a time, be patient, for the Lord may have a divine appointment waiting on the other side.

Employment Point: Rely upon Jesus in turbulent times while anticipating future opportunities.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
