Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year TwoSample

I have made a covenant with my eyes (Job 31:1 NKJV).
Do you focus on the things of God or get distracted by things on earth?
In today’s reading, we observe the contrasting focus of Samson and Jesus. While Jesus remains focused on His mission to save the world, Samson becomes distracted from his task of delivering Israel.
Samson's downfall lies in his lustful gaze. Throughout his story, he fixates on the wrong objects, ultimately losing his sight as a consequence (Judges 16:21), a painful reminder of the consequences of lust.
In contrast, Jesus demonstrates unwavering focus in Luke 9:51, as He sets His face towards Jerusalem, fully aware of His mission. Jesus Himself talked about the importance of staying focused. He said, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God” (Luke 9:62 NKJV).
Today, I pray that you imitate Jesus rather than Samson by staying focused on serving God and fulfilling your mission!
Employment Point: Avoid distractions by focusing upon the things of God.
