Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year TwoSample

I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:14 NKJV).
How is your spiritual eyesight?
Samson loses his eyes and then his life, and Israel continues in a downward spiral. Just as Samson fixated on inappropriate objects, Israel's gaze reflected their moral decay, as depicted in Judges 17:6. They lacked spiritual discernment, each doing what seemed right in their own eyes.
Centuries later, Jesus, who had clear vision, sent seventy witnesses with a mission: to demonstrate God's power to lost Israel. Upon their return, they gleefully reported their success to Jesus and all they had seen. However, Jesus redirected their focus, urging them to rejoice in their salvation rather than their accomplishments (Luke 10:20).
In today’s world, many are like Samson and Old Testament Israel, filled with moral decay and lacking spiritual vision. I pray that you become like the 70 who rejoiced in their salvation and faithfully served the Lord.
Employment Point: Focus upon the joy of your salvation while serving others.
About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
