How are you passing on your faith to the next generation?
In the book of Deuteronomy, Moses, knowing his time is near, gathers the people to instruct them, including the children, to fear the Lord (Deuteronomy 31:12). He emphasizes the importance of transmitting faith to the younger ones who will inherit the Promised Land, entrusting them with this sacred responsibility.
Fast forward to the New Testament era, where we encounter Zacharias and Elizabeth, described as righteous and blameless before God (Luke 1:6). Despite their old age, they are blessed with a son, John the Baptist, who would play a crucial role in preparing the way for the Messiah (Luke 1:16). It's evident that their faithful instruction contributed to John's spiritual maturity and his impactful ministry.
As believers today, we are called to follow in the footsteps of Moses and the godly example of Zacharias and Elizabeth. By nurturing the faith of the next generation, we can equip them to serve God's kingdom and impact future generations for His glory. Let us embrace this sacred mission with diligence and dedication.
