Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year TwoSample

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service (Romans 12:1 NKJV).
How do you build the courage not to compromise when facing death?
In today’s reading, we learn that Daniel didn’t develop courage overnight—it was a product of his daily faithfulness to God (Daniel 6:10). When he faced the lions, his confidence came from years of seeking God through prayer and obedience. Courage to stand firm begins with small, faithful steps.
In our New Testament reading, John imparts: “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love” (1 John 4:18 NKJV). Are you cultivating habits today that will prepare you to stand firm tomorrow?
Employment Point: Draw upon God’s power by daily entering His presence to know His perfect person and develop unwavering convictions.
About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
