Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year TwoSample

If you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things that make for your peace! (Luke 19:42 NKJV).
Do you have the right open-door policy?
When Jesus came, many lacked discernment and rejected Him even though He fulfilled prophecy predicted by Daniel (Daniel 9:24–27). John also warns us to be discerning about who and what we allow into our lives, saying, “If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine [the gospel], do not receive him into your house nor greet him” (2 John 10 NKJV).
Are you guarding your heart and home against false teachings while keeping them open to God’s truth? Welcoming the right influences shapes your faith and protects your walk with God. Evaluate what you’re allowing into your life through books, media, conversations… and make changes to honor God’s truth.
Employment Point: Carefully study God’s Word for the right open-door policy.
About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
