Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year TwoSample

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the LORD has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor (Isaiah 61:1 NKJV).
Are you focused upon Jesus’ imminent return?
Paul comforts the Christians in Thessalonica by reminding them of the Rapture—the moment when Jesus will gather His people to Himself (1 Thessalonians 4:13–18). After the Rapture, the tribulation follows, and then Christ will return to earth. Isaiah 61 foretells the time when Jesus the Messiah will come to bring justice and establish His kingdom.
Are you living with the expectation of Christ’s return? Knowing that Jesus could come back at any moment should motivate us to lead holy lives and share the Gospel. What changes can you make today to prepare for His return? I encourage you to keep your eyes fixed on Christ’s coming, allowing it to inspire you to live faithfully each day.
Employment Point: Believe upon Jesus’ finished work and await His return.
About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
