Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year TwoSample

For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith (Galatians 5:5 NKJV).
What are you eagerly expecting?
The two English words “eagerly wait” translate from one term in the Greek New Testament. The word has the root idea “to expect” and has a preposition affixed to it, which shows an intense expectation. We are to eagerly desire Jesus to return. In Galatians 5:5, Paul emphasized the hope of the resurrection through Christ.
Isaiah foretold that Jesus would be a light to the nations (see Isaiah 11:10) and gives us a taste of Jesus’ future rule: “The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them” (Isaiah 11:6 NKJV). Jesus, the Prince of Peace, will return after the Tribulation (Revelation 6–19) and reestablish the tranquil environment that was experienced by Adam and Eve before the Fall.
How does this hope shape your life? Reflect on the certainty of Christ’s resurrection and its impact on your faith. Let this hope guide and inspire you in all aspects of your life.
Employment Point: Live passionately for Jesus as you anticipate His return.
About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
