Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year TwoSample

For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6 NKJV).
Why did Jesus enter our world?
Isaiah spoke of Jesus as the “Everlasting Father” and “Mighty God.” Paul notes that Jesus came “in the fullness of time” to redeem us. “But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law” (Galatians 4:4 NKJV). The reason for His coming is given: “To redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons” (Galatians 4:5 NKJV).
Reflect on the incredible truth that Jesus stepped into history for you. His arrival was perfectly timed to offer salvation and adoption into God’s family. Let this truth have an impact on your daily life and deepen your appreciation for His sacrifice.
Employment Point: Receive the Father of Eternity to be given everlasting life.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
