Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

DAY 215 OF 365

Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who only does wondrous things! (Psalm 72:18 NKJV).

How great is your faith in God’s power and ability to fulfill all His promises?

Our faith is only as strong as the object we trust in. Solomon, in Psalm 72, saw God's incredible power and put his trust in Him. The Hebrew term “wondrous” in Psalm 72:18 means to do something wonderful, extraordinary, or difficult. Solomon grasps the unique nature and power of God; he attributes to the Father an unprecedented and unrivaled capacity.

God made a huge promise to Abraham—to make him the father of a nation, even though he was nearly 100 years old. Paul writes, “He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He promised He was also able to perform” (Romans 4:20–21 NKJV).

Embrace God’s promises with strong faith. Trust that He can make the impossible possible and fulfill what He has promised.

Employment Point: Embrace God’s promises, knowing that He alone can fulfill them.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
