Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year TwoSample

Save me, O God! (Psalm 69:1 NKJV).
Do you take comfort in the fact that Jesus’ righteousness saved your soul from the grave?
In today’s reading, David describes feeling overwhelmed, like he’s drowning, and he turns to God for help and salvation (Psalm 69:1).
We are all spiritually lost because of sin, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23 NKJV). The good news is that God, who saved David, can save anyone who believes in Him. God offers righteousness to those who repent and trust in Jesus, who died for our sins and rose from the dead. Paul says this righteousness is given “through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe” (Romans 3:22 NKJV).
If you feel overwhelmed by your struggles, remember that Jesus offers salvation and help. Trust in Him and embrace the righteousness He provides to overcome difficulties and find true peace.
Employment Point: Receive freely God’s righteousness through believing on Jesus’ finished work.
About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
