Why did Jesus stand to greet Stephen when the deacon was killed for his faith?

In the Holy of Holies, there's no chair because the high priest must offer sacrifices yearly for his sins and those of the nation (Leviticus 16), indicating ongoing work. Josephus, a Jewish historian, records eighty-three high priests from Aaron to the Temple's destruction in AD 70. All of them served and died with their work never being completed.

However, Jesus, upon ascending to God's right hand, takes a seat, symbolizing His finished work. Unlike the Old Testament high priest, whose duties were never-ending, Jesus' sacrifice is complete.

So why does Luke mention Jesus "standing at the right hand of God?” (Acts 7:56 NKJV). He stands to welcome the church's first martyr into heaven. Stephen. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ arises to meet his faithful servants!
