Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year TwoSample

I am the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6 NKJV).
With whom should you share the gospel?
Peter, the apostle to the Jews, learns that God desires all men to be saved, including Gentiles. God directs Peter to share the gospel with Cornelius, a Gentile, showing that Jesus died for everyone, not just Jews. God tells Peter, "What God has cleansed you must not call common" (Acts 10:15 NKJV). The tearing of the temple veil at Jesus' death signifies that all people now have access to God (Matthew 27:51).
Welcome opportunities to share the gospel with people from different backgrounds. Reflect on any personal biases and ask God to help you see everyone as deserving of His grace. You can also go the extra mile and volunteer in your church’s outreach programs to share the love of Christ.
Employment Point: Bring the gospel of truth to all people.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
