Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

DAY 176 OF 365

For he [Moses] supposed that his brethren would have understood that God would deliver them by his hand, but they did not understand (Acts 7:25 NKJV).

Do you ever feel misunderstood by others?

In today’s reading, Job's friends misunderstand the reasons behind his suffering. Eliphaz, one of Job's companions, said, "Consider: Who has perished when he was innocent? Where have the honest been destroyed?" (Job 4:7 CSB). Sadly, Job's friends fail to comprehend both the character and actions of the Lord. Bad theology gives way to bad advice!

When you are facing a misunderstanding or wrongful judgment from others, please remember that even those closest to you may not fully grasp your situation or motives. Instead of becoming discouraged or resentful, seek God's wisdom and understanding, trusting that He sees and knows the truth of your heart and circumstances.

Employment Point: Follow God even if it means being misunderstood.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
