Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

DAY 155 OF 365

If you ask anything in My name, I will do it (John 14:14 NKJV).

Is loyalty considered one of the main traits God seeks from His followers?

King Asa, facing the mighty Ethiopian army, shows unwavering trust in God's power and wins through prayer when God destroys His enemies. But later, he falters, seeking help from the Syrians instead of relying solely on God.

Loyalty is what God values most in His followers. He looks for those devoted to Him, as mentioned in 2 Chronicles 16:9. Today, Christians can stay loyal by daily seeking God's guidance in prayer and trusting in His strength over worldly solutions. By studying God's Word, we gain the wisdom to navigate life's challenges and accomplish remarkable feats for His glory. A committed man or woman of God embraces scripture and follows it faithfully, resisting the world's temptations to disobey. Obedience is essential to unleash the Lord’s power.

Employment Point: Be completely loyal to Jesus to accomplish great things for God.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
