Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year TwoSample

O God, lift up Your hand! (Psalm 10:12 NKJV).
Whose hand are you depending upon?
In today’s reading, we witness the power of God's hand—either in removing the hand of an enemy or in using His own hand to heal and bless.
The term “hand” or “hands” occurs frequently in 1 Samuel 7 (1 Samuel 7:3, 8, 13, 14). Samuel instructs the Israelites to turn wholeheartedly to the Lord, promising deliverance from the Philistines if they obey. Their plea for salvation from the Philistines is met with divine intervention: “And the hand of the LORD was against the Philistines...” (1 Samuel 7:13 NKJV).
In Luke 13, Jesus encounters a woman in need. He touches her, and she is immediately healed. This physical restoration highlights the spiritual impact of submitting to God's mighty hand.
Brothers and sisters, God’s hands remain as mighty today as they were in the Old and New Testaments. Seek Him and trust in His power!
Employment Point: Depend continually upon God’s powerful hand.
About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
