Hebrews Part 3: Sleepy Christianity

DAY 8 OF 18

What’s Taking Jesus' Place in Your Life?

We live in a world where everything wears down—bodies, relationships, even the best intentions. Sin has touched it all, and no matter how hard we try, we can’t outrun the cracks in the system or the flaws in ourselves. But here’s the good news: Jesus Christ is greater than all of it. He’s not bound by this broken world, and He’s preparing something far better for us—an eternal home untouched by sin, pain, or failure.

Jesus Christ is greater than earthly things.

Everything on earth bears the scars of human sin. All creation groans under the curse that began with our first father, Adam. Even ministry—whether under the Old Covenant or the New—is marked by the shortcomings of those called to serve. As a pastor, the longer I walk this road, the more aware I am of my own faults and failures. Yet here’s the hope: Jesus is preparing a heavenly home where He will glorify, perfect, and ready us before welcoming us into His presence forever.

Don’t let the failures around you—or within you—define your hope. Jesus isn’t just greater than your problems; He’s greater than the world itself. Fix your eyes on Him, not on the chaos, and live with the confidence that your future is already secure.

What earthly thing are you clinging to that you need to surrender to Jesus today?
