God Says I Am: Embracing Peace & Walking in PowerSample

God says I am ... a joint heir in Christ.
Have you ever watched one of those movies where someone living a quiet, unremarkable life suddenly discovers they’re royalty? These stories reflect a longing we all share: the desire to be seen, chosen, and destined for something greater.
Here’s the wild part for Christians—it’s not just a fantasy. It’s true.
As a follower of Jesus, you’ve been adopted into God’s family and declared a joint heir with Christ, called to walk in His authority and promise. That means you share in everything God has given to Jesus: His blessings, inheritance, and eternal kingdom (John 17:22, Romans 8:16–17).
Let that sink in.
Your inheritance isn’t defined by earthly circumstances. It’s eternal, rooted in God’s character and unchanging promise (1 Peter 1:4).
Your position as a co-heir empowers you to live with purpose. Through the Holy Spirit, you’re equipped to love deeply, serve boldly, and reflect God’s mercy. God’s power and love are alive in you, meant to bring light to the world and open doors of intimacy with Him that cannot be closed (Ephesians 2:4–7).
Believing that you’re a co-heir can change how you see everything. You’re not powerless. You’re not unworthy. You’ve been given victory over darkness and authority in Jesus’ name!
So, when the enemy tries to steal your identity, remember, you’re not an imposter trying to live like Christ—you’re living with Him and in Him. You are a joint heir.
As you walk deeper in this truth, consider these questions.
- How does your self-talk compare to your God-given identity? When you begin to beat yourself up, what Scriptures can reframe your thoughts?
- How do your relationships reflect your true identity? Are you allowing yourself to be taken advantage of?
- How would your relationship with God differ if you fully accepted that you are a co-heir with Christ?
Dear Lord,
Your generosity confounds me. I struggle to understand the depth of Your love for me. But I trust You and believe I am more than the sum of my mistakes—that through Your victory and forgiveness, You call me Yours.
As a co-heir with Christ, I believe that through the Holy Spirit, I am chosen to help bring the good news of Christ to the world around me.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
