Taking FlightSample

THE GATE
There's something magical in the airport about the immediate sense of relaxation that comes over you if you have time to spare when you get to your gate. It brings an enchanting sense of relief. Somehow, most of those other stressors that held you captive trying to get to this stage of your flight are now in your past, and you are ready to move to that destination you are looking forward to. You can let out a "finally" sigh as you sink into that chair outside your plane. You realize there's time to get a drink and a snack. Time to visit the restroom just before boarding is always glorious. I don't know of anyone who likes using the airplane facilities.
What should we have ready under our belts as we approach the narrow gate that leads to our final destination?
How about an unwavering faith that has been fully exercised while on Earth? (James 2:14, Titus 2:14)
Maybe another thing under our belt should be the giving and serving of those in need ...especially those of the household of faith. (Gal 6:10, 2 Cor. 9:11)
The extension and receiving of forgiveness are biggies as well. God's Word tells us that we can't be forgiven if we choose not to forgive others. It's also essential to seek the forgiveness of someone or people we have offended. (Mark 11:25, Matthew 6:14-15)
God's Word tells us we must seek the "narrow" gate. Sadly, the wider path leads to destruction, and many will take that wide path. (Matthew 7:13) Matthew 7 goes on in verse 14, stating that the gate to LIFE is narrow. It is also hard, and those who find it are few.
So yes, there are apparent instructions in our Instruction Manual, which we call the Holy Bible, and there are many, and it is challenging to choose to do them at times. Still, the reward is beyond what we can even comprehend.
Are you prepped for that narrow way into that heavenly gate? What can you begin to do in some of these suggestions to make your heart, mind, and spirit ready for that entry?
About this Plan

How can we best prepare to hear those hoped-for words, "Well done, thy good and faithful servant?" No one knows when that appointed time will manifest to meet the Father, so it is vital to do the prep work to be ready. Some know most of the runway is behind them, while many don't realize that it is already behind them and flight is coming. Let's search the Scriptures to prepare our hearts, minds, and spirits for that great reunion in the sky!
