Taking FlightSample

Arrival
It can be tiresome to deboard a plane because we have to wait, wait, wait. Everyone stands up at the same time. Most get in the aisle, so getting out and getting to our bags is difficult. And trying not to hit your head on the ceiling above you, where the luggage is stowed, is so fun (not). I am not a super patient person regarding things like that. I also do not care for crowds or having my personal space invaded.
Aren't you glad that Scripture contains so many promises that we can rely on to know that these things that bother us here won't be issues in Heaven? I sure am thankful for that. The older I get, however, the more I can better realize that if I live in the light of eternity, these petty troubles down here don't have to bother me anymore.
Making it to our real home...the one we were created to long for (Heaven), is more glorious than I think we can imagine or fathom. We won't care about the crowd. We won't need any bags! We will be excited to be a part of the Kingdon of God!
We were all built with an inner craving for our eternal home. Many don't realize this "void" we can feel was ingrained in us during our creation in the womb. The older you get, the more you long for it, too. As you age, the more loved ones that go on before you to their eternity, the sweeter Heaven sounds. (Psalm 119:123, 2 Cor. 5:2)
How do we best execute a plan to hear those words upon arrival, "Well done, good and faithful servant?" (Matthew 25:21, 23)
Here are a few ideas:
- Establishing and maintaining a close relationship with God- salvation is necessary!
- Live with the end in mind
- Be faithful/persevere in faith
- Know God fully through the study of His Word and remaining in prayer daily
- Do everything in loving kindness, serving others, and putting yourself last
- Be a good steward of what God has entrusted you with
- Ask God for guidance and obey Him no matter what
- Be humble, gentle, generous, and patient. The Fruit of The Spirit being exercised is crucial!
It's never too late to get a running start on preparation for that final destination & the seeing of Jesus, face to face! Let's get to work!
About this Plan

How can we best prepare to hear those hoped-for words, "Well done, thy good and faithful servant?" No one knows when that appointed time will manifest to meet the Father, so it is vital to do the prep work to be ready. Some know most of the runway is behind them, while many don't realize that it is already behind them and flight is coming. Let's search the Scriptures to prepare our hearts, minds, and spirits for that great reunion in the sky!
