Taking Flight

DAY 4 OF 5

Buckle Up!

For many, a first-time commercial or small aircraft flight can be nerve-racking. Something about the unknown can really get under most adults' skin.

Have you ever noticed how unafraid many children can be concerning new things when young? That's why it's so easy for them to see in the Spirit realm and hear from God quicker than adults. That child-like faith is incredible, and there's a reason that God tells us to "be as children." He wants us to trust Him with an abandonment, ready to fall at any time, knowing that the arms of Jesus are right there, waiting to catch us.

God does expect us to "do our part," however. We are expected to use common sense in discernment. Of course, we must buckle up when we get on that plane and prepare for takeoff. Sure, we are to re-buckle during the flight if things get turbulent.

Just as we do our part in following the guidelines for a flight here on Earth, we are to do our part to keep ourselves secure in Jesus as we ready ourselves for that final destination. As believers, we are the body of Christ and, individually, members of it. (1 Cor. 12:27) What an honor and responsibility! We represent HIM. How do you "re-present Him" to others?

If we are the body...are our arms and feet busy about The Father's business? Are we peacemakers? Are we testifiers of the goodness of God and the gospel of Jesus Christ? Are we leading anyone to the throne of The Lord to find salvation? Is the joy of The Lord our strength and our song? God's Word tells us that the feet of those busy doing these things are beautiful! (Isa. 52:7, Rom. 10:15)

Are we doing everything IN LOVE? Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians that we are nothing if we don't have/express love! (1 Cor. 13:2) These are all the ways we can be "securely fastened" to Jesus and keep our feet planted on The Rock that cannot be moved!

You can feel secure in Jesus and be ready for that final destination! What measures can you take to be more securely fastened to your Creator going forward?

About this Plan

Taking Flight

How can we best prepare to hear those hoped-for words, "Well done, thy good and faithful servant?" No one knows when that appointed time will manifest to meet the Father, so it is vital to do the prep work to be ready. Some know most of the runway is behind them, while many don't realize that it is already behind them and flight is coming. Let's search the Scriptures to prepare our hearts, minds, and spirits for that great reunion in the sky!
