Day 19: The Centurion – Strength to Trust Without Seeing

Scripture: Matthew 8:5-13
Key Verse: “Jesus said to the centurion, ‘Go! Let it be done just as you believed it would.’ And his servant was healed at that moment.” – Matthew 8:13

A Roman centurion approached Jesus with a request to heal his servant, a man he loved. His faith was remarkable, not in his strength but in his belief that Jesus had authority over sickness and disease. He recognized that Jesus didn’t need to be physically present to heal; His word was enough.

Jesus marveled at his faith, telling those around Him that He had not found such faith even in Israel. The centurion didn’t need proof or a sign; he believed in Jesus' power simply because he knew who Jesus was.

This kind of faith, faith that believes without seeing, is powerful. It’s a faith that trusts God’s word and His ability to work, even when the situation doesn’t look what we expect. The centurion's strength wasn’t in his understanding of how healing worked but in his trust in Jesus.
