Strength for Tomorrow

DAY 24 OF 30

Day 24: Jesus – Strength to Surrender Fully

Scripture: Matthew 26:36-46
Key Verse:
“My Father, if possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.” – Matthew 26:39

Jesus’ final moments in the Garden of Gethsemane reveal the ultimate example of strength through surrender. Though He knew the agony that awaited Him on the cross, He prayed honestly, expressing His desire to avoid suffering. Yet, He surrendered His will to the Father’s, saying, “Not as I will, but as You will.”

This surrender was not out of weakness but out of the most profound strength, the strength to lay down His desires for the greater purpose of salvation. Jesus’ surrender secured victory over sin and death.

Our strength often comes from letting go, not holding on. Surrender is not a sign of weakness; recognizing that God’s plans are more significant than our own. When we surrender our will to God, we find true peace and strength in His purpose.

Prayer Focus: Pray for the strength to surrender your will to God’s, trusting that His plans are always the best, even when they involve sacrifice.

About this Plan

Strength for Tomorrow

Jesus told us that our weariness comes from carrying a burden that is too heavy for us. Instead, we are supposed to give our problems, cares, and concerns to Him and allow Him to give us the strength to do what He asks. He will teach us to do this over the next 30 days because He is humble and gentle at heart. God's word will show us examples of people throughout scripture who put their burdens in His hands and found rest for their souls.
