Day 22: The Blind Man – Strength to Persevere in Faith
Scripture: Mark 10:46-52; Matthew 11:28-30
Key Verse: “Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, ‘Son of David, have mercy on me!’” – Mark 10:48
Bartimaeus was blind but saw Jesus more clearly than the crowd did. He cried out for mercy when he heard that Jesus was passing by. The people around him told him to be quiet, but he refused to be silenced. His persistence caught Jesus’ attention, and because of his faith, he was healed.
How often do we allow obstacles to discourage us from calling on Jesus? We may feel our prayers go unheard, or the voices around us may tell us to give up. But faith means pressing on, even when opposition arises.
Bartimaeus teaches us that strength isn’t just about endurance; it’s about refusing to let anything stop us from seeking Jesus. When we cry out to Him, He always hears us.
Prayer Focus: Ask God for the strength to persist in faith, no matter what obstacles stand in the way.

About this Plan

Jesus told us that our weariness comes from carrying a burden that is too heavy for us. Instead, we are supposed to give our problems, cares, and concerns to Him and allow Him to give us the strength to do what He asks. He will teach us to do this over the next 30 days because He is humble and gentle at heart. God's word will show us examples of people throughout scripture who put their burdens in His hands and found rest for their souls.
