A Book Of Remembrance: Wisdom From The AgesSample

“The greatest good you can do for another is not just to share your riches, but to reveal to him his own.”
-Benjamin Disraeli-
Benjamin Disraeli had a long and eventful political career which gave him much life experience, knowledge, and wisdom. I love this quote from him because it speaks volumes to me, as I find great joy in motivating others to be the best version of themselves. It’s an amazing feeling when you can sit back and watch someone sprout their wings, and soar like an eagle, especially when you gave them the initial push.
Today’s Bible verse says the same thing, but on a much more important level. There is nothing that we can produce on our own that could ever compare to the life of God living inside us. Paul went so far as to call these self-produced works rubbish! (Philippians 3:8)
So, for today, let us remind our fellow Christians of the glory that resides inside them. Let us say a kind word that might help someone stir up the spirit and become a spiritual dynamo, a force to be reckoned with. Let us point out other’s strengths, and not their weaknesses, so that they may pray for those gifts to be used for God’s will. Let us reveal the mystery to those who are in darkness, perhaps with a kind gesture or compliment, so that the true light may shine in them too in God’s perfect timing.
