A Book Of Remembrance: Wisdom From The Ages

DAY 39 OF 42

“Let us tenderly and kindly cherish, therefore, the means of knowledge. Let us dare to read, think, speak, and write.”

-John Adams-

As one of our nation’s founding fathers, John Adams knew how valuable knowledge is not just to society, but to individuals as well. According to him, we should be cherishing it and spreading it too.  As you can see in today’s Bible verse, God is in total agreement. His words may seem a bit harsh, but as it says in 2 Timothy 3:16, “All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” We need to take God’s word on how much value He places on knowledge, especially knowledge of His word.

All too often in our day and age, people make decisions without properly researching their options. We blindly listen to advertisements, whether they be for products, politicians, or the newest diet crazes. The root of this compilation has been the fact that history repeats itself. And if we don’t have knowledge of our history, we are doomed to repeat the bad parts of it.

So, for today, let us make wise decisions based on true knowledge. Let us research our options, especially in issues regarding morality. Let us consult the Word of God, ask for wise counsel, and do what is right in the eyes of our Creator. There is life in knowledge, and all we have to do is open the book and listen in order to receive it.

About this Plan

There is an unbreakable law of history. That which has happened before will happen again, if the same ingredients are present.  Looking at the lessons of history through the lens of God's word will provide us with the best ingredients to give us a God centered life. It is truly a recipe for success!
